Questions people ask

Mostly the ones that come up before anyone signs up. If yours is not here, ask us. We read everything.

Is my email safe?

We request one permission, Google's read-only scope, so we cannot send, delete or change anything in your mailbox. We store the full message only when it scores as a receipt, and even those stored copies are deleted after 90 days; the receipt data is what stays.

The long version is here, including how to disconnect and what happens when you do.

What if I have no receipts?

Most people think they have none and have more than they expect: years of order confirmations sitting in an inbox nobody has searched. That is the first thing Indemnia looks through, and it usually finds a few hundred things you had forgotten you bought.

For everything email never saw, you add it: photograph a room and we identify what is in it, scan a paper receipt, or type an item in. A record built from a mix of proof and honest recollection is normal. The point is that the parts you can prove are proven.

Do I need this if I already have photos?

Photos prove you owned something. They do not prove when you bought it or what you paid, and those are the two numbers a claim is settled on: replacement cost, depreciation, and the actual cash value that falls out of them.

So photos are a good start and an incomplete one. Indemnia keeps them alongside the receipt that dates and prices the same item, which is the combination an adjuster can actually work from.

What if I'm already in a claim?

You can start now. If your carrier has already sent a depreciation schedule, you can import it and work line by line: Indemnia shows what each line is worth, what was withheld as depreciation, and what buying a replacement would recover.

Starting mid-claim is harder than starting before one, because you are reconstructing rather than reviewing. It is also what most people are doing when they find us, and it is a case the product is built for rather than one it tolerates.

Is the AI going to make things up?

It can be wrong, which is why nothing it produces is filed on your behalf. Every item it reads out of a receipt or a photo arrives as a suggestion you confirm, and every figure on a report traces back to the document it came from.

The review step is not something we have failed to automate away. It is the reason the record holds up when someone else is checking it.

What happens if you shut down?

You export your record and keep it. Your inventory, your receipts and your reports export in formats that outlive us, and that is true at every tier. Nothing about getting your own record out sits behind a paywall.

We are a small company in early access. We would rather answer this plainly than let you find out later that the answer was no.
